Life Story: I used to study at the local village school, but because we were so many children in our class I never really learned anything. After three years I still didn’t know how to read or write and so I stopped my education because I couldn’t follow anyway. I spent a couple of years hanging around in the harbor until a teacher from SISP noticed me and persuaded me to join the SISP free education center. I have been with SISP now for 4 years and have learned a lot, the teachers are all very nice for us and I have a lot friends there.

Surf Experience and Motivation: If I go to school every day I get the permission to join the Surfclub in the weekends. It’s a really good chance to enjoy some time in the ocean and have fun with my friends. Every weekend I walk down to Kovalam and this year I changed from using a bodyboard to a surfboard. Now I can finally stand up as well and join the other boys in the bigger surf.​
