We are extremely proud of our team riders and everything they have achieved these past years. Since the beginning of the Kovalam Surfclub, our surfers have put heart and soul into their favourite sport. 2022 - MANGALORE

"INDIAN OPEN OF SURFING"

Mangalore, 29th May 2022: Ramesh Budhial snatched away victory from the laps of Tamil Nadu’s Ajeesh Ali to be crowned as the new national champion in the Men’s Open Surf of the third edition of the Indian Open of Surfing scoring16.33

"MAHABS POINT BREAK CHALLLENGE"

Mahabalipuram, 02nd August 2022: Ramesh Budhial prevailed over Manikandan Desappan to be crowned the champion in the Men’s Open (17+) category,in Mahabs Point Break Challenge – one of the two National Surfing Championships conducted by the Surfing Federation of India in Mahabalipuram,

2019 - CHENNAI

"COVELONG POINT SURF FESTIVAL"

Chennai, 25th August 2023 :Ramesh took the top spot in men's (16-28) category of the covelong point surfing championship followed by D.Srikanth on second and M.Harish on third.

Chennai ,19th August 2018 , Ramesh won first place in the junior category surpassing Surya P and Satheesh S of chennai winning  the Covelong point surf festival held at covelong beach,Chennai.

2017 - MANGALORE

"INDIAN OPEN OF SURFING"

Mangalore, May 28th 2017: Participating in the Seniors Category (23-30) one of our oldest pupil and now a professional surfer Varghese Anthony won the second place in a truly nail bitting finish against Sekar Patchai of Tamilnadu.

Mangalore ,May 28th 2017 : In the Junior category (17-22) Ramesh Budhial won in first place participating against Surya P and Rahul Govind in the final round.

2017 - CHENNAI

"COVELONG POINT SURF FESTIVAL"

Chennai, August 27th, 2017: The Fifth edition of Covelong Point Surf, Music & Yoga Festival 2017 came to an exhilarating finish as the Covelong Point Beach revealed with cheers for the participants in the finals,Ramesh Budihal won in the junior category (17-23 years) followed by Surya P and Rahul Govind.

2016 - CHENNAI

"COVELONG POINT SURF FESTIVAL"

Chennai, August 28th, 2016:There were 15,000 visitors swarming the beach, watching 150 participants battle the waves for top spot among which our beloved and talented Varghese Anthony  won third place in the master’s category.

2013 - CHENNAI

"COVELONG POINT CLASSIC"

Chennai, August 28th, 2016:Covelong Point Social Surfing School in association with Surfing Federation of India conducted a national level surfing contest at the famous Covelong Point, Chennai. The event was hosted surfers from all of India's coastline, competing against each other under different age categories , Nissam Sulaiman one of our oldest students won second place in the junior category.

"INDIAN SPICE COAST OPEN"

The first edition of the Spice Coast Open marks the beginning of the rise of surfing as an adventure sport in the country. Kovalam Beach was packed with surfers, fans, and waves pumped the whole event held by the Surfing Federation of India , Ramesh won third place in the local groms category.

2013 - KOVALAM

"INDIAN SPICE COAST OPEN"

The three-day event offered several surfing divisions, from Under-25 to Local Juniors. More than 100 surfers from state surfing associations, clubs, surf schools, and enthusiasts from around the country and abroad took part in the Spice Coast Open, our founder Jelle Rigole fought his way to win second place in Open men category.

2013 - KOVALAM

"INDIAN SPICE COAST OPEN"

Nissam Sulaiman has conquered the Spice Coast Open, India's first official national surfing contest, held at the renowned beach town of Kovalam in Kerala.Winning the title at the local junior category.

2013 - KOVALAM

"INDIAN SPICE COAST OPEN"

The first official surfing competition in India took place at Kovalam Beach, Kerala, between May 3rd-5th. Kovalam Beach, with its golden sands and vast stretch of water, is one of the best surf spots in India.Krishna won his first national title by winning in second place in the local groms category on the home-spot.

2011 - MAHABS

"MAHABS OPEN"

Our very own Nissam Sulaiman winning second place in the open category of Mahabs Open surf competition took place in Mahabalipuram ,Tamilnadu, India.
